Watchman Campground

Zion National Park, Utah

Watchman Campground is located inside Zion National Park with easy access to trails, shuttles, and scenic views. Perfect for tents, RVs, and families.

Tucked beneath the towering sandstone cliffs of Zion National Park, Watchman Campground offers incredible views of the Watchman peak, which glows orange and red at sunrise and sunset. The Virgin River flows right next to the campground, providing a refreshing place to cool off during hot summer afternoons.

Most sites receive partial to full sun, while some group and walk-in sites offer shade from pergolas over picnic tables. In the fall, cottonwood trees surrounding the campground turn vibrant gold, adding to the stunning scenery.

From the campground, hikers can access three trails without needing the shuttle:

  • Watchman Trail – a moderate climb with panoramic views

  • Archeology Trail – a quick walk to a historic site

  • Pa’rus Trail – a dog-friendly paved trail along the river

Watchman is open year-round, but reservations are required and can be booked up to six months in advance.
